BH Telecom's profit in the first six months is 36.3 million KM, four million for sports, culture...

At the BH Telecom business building, business indicators for the current year and the most significant activities were presented, and a new corporate spot and slogan of BH Telecom "Good stories continue", writes the Patria news agency.

BH Telecom's profit as the leading BH operator in providing telecommunications services in the first six months of the current year amounted to 36.3 million convertible marks (KM).

Mirsad Zaimović, General Director of BH Telecom, pointed out that September 5 is celebrated as the company's day, and this significant date marks the anniversary of the telecommunications unblocking of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- Namely, at the beginning of September 1993, under the most severe war conditions, experts from the then JP PTT BiH managed to install and put into operation a satellite connection using the international code 387 assigned to BiH by the International Telecommunication Union. This connection had a capacity of 30 voice channels. What is interesting to note is that the satellite system intended for BiH was blocked for three months in Zagreb, but on August 21, 1993, according to an agreement by Alija Izetbegović and the intervention of then US President Bill Clinton, the satellite system was transported by plane back to the Presidency of BiH, and that same night by PTT car to the facility at Dolac Malta. From that moment, PTT workers carefully guarded the satellite station and, after installation, maintained it as one of the greatest treasures, as Nihad Halilbegović states in his book „Diversion at the Main Post Office in Sarajevo and the telecommunications unblocking of BiH“ – Zaimović emphasized.

As further noted, BH Telecom continuously confirms its role as one of the most successful domestic companies that enables the development of BH society and economy, and helps implement numerous social activities in BiH.

This year as well, the entire month of September is being marked through numerous activities.

- We continuously invest in education and projects for young people, invest in science and the future, promote socially responsible business, encourage humanity – it was stated at the conference.

Thus, in 2015, BH Telecom signed 714 contracts and invested 4.5 million KM in the fields of sports, culture, science, and humanitarian work.

By the end of August this year, 642 contracts were signed with various partners, and 4 million KM were invested.

The new corporate spot and slogan of BH Telecom "Good stories continue" was produced in co-production with Fotoart.

The number of BH Telecom service users regarding fixed connections, as of July 31, amounted to 360,962 subscribers, which is less compared to the same period in 2015 (389,069).

The number of internet access users is 202,593 users, which is more than in 2015 (189,140). Regarding the company's plans for 2016, Zaimović points out that a new concept of integrated services for business users is planned. New programs in the M2M services segment are also expected: Secure Home, Vehicle Monitoring, and other projects.
