Special session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska by the end of the week

(Patria) - The National Assembly of Republika Srpska should hold a special session by the end of the week to accept the resignation of Prime Minister Radovan Višković. This would initiate the procedure for appointing a new prime minister-designate, stated the Speaker of the National Assembly, Nenad Stevandić.

At this session, the legal basis for initiating the referendum process to reject the revocation of President Milorad Dodik's mandate should also be adopted.

"The plan is that at the already scheduled session, we will seek a date, preferably this week, Thursday or Friday, when we receive the act that Mr. Višković has submitted his resignation, to include that item on the agenda as well, in order to initiate the procedure for appointing a new prime minister-designate," Stevandić explained.

Stevandić emphasized that Republika Srpska will invoke international law and preserve "its sovereignty, and will make its own decisions".

"The constitutional crisis has been ongoing since the moment judges and prosecutors began accepting Schmidt's decisions and issuing verdicts based on them," said Stevandić.

"International law stands above all else - and one of them is the right to self-determination, which is defined by the United Nations," said the head of the entity parliament.
