By the end of the month, the Independent Board will decide on a new tender for FUP Director

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Independent Board of the Parliament of FBiH should hold a session by the end of this month to decide on announcing a new tender for the election of the Director of the Federal Police Administration. The text of the tender will also likely be determined at the same session.

Following its last session in December, the Independent Board requested information from the FBiH Government on whether the Government had informed any of the candidates from the ranking list, on whom it voted at the session on July 8, 2021, about it.

We remind you that the FBiH Government initially received the list of ranked candidates in April 2019, but in June of that year, it decided not to vote and to postpone the election of the FUP Director until a new FBiH Government was formed, so as not to affect the election of the Minister of Internal Affairs of FBiH, as the FUP Director and the Minister cannot be from the same constituent people.

Only at the session on July 8, 2021, when it became clear that there would be no new FBiH Government, did they vote on each candidate individually. No candidate received the required majority, and the top-ranked candidate, Zoran Galić, received five votes from the HDZ BiH, which insists on his appointment to this position to this day.

However, the FBiH Government concluded the procedure by voting, which practically ended this tender, and it remains for the Independent Board to announce a new tender.

If the situation remains as it is, given that the Minister of FMUP, Aljoša Čampara, is Bosniak, the FUP Director should be from another constituent people.

Incidentally, Ensad Korman has been leading the FUP during the period since the Director's position became vacant.
