Detailed checks of passengers in buses and cars until the end of the year

(Patria) - Officials of the Indirect Taxation Authority (UIO) seized various goods with a total estimated value of over 10,000 BAM during intensified checks of passenger traffic at the Gradiška Border Crossing.

In the period leading up to the end of the year, when an increased arrival of citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina from abroad is expected, as well as an increased entry of foreigners into BiH, customs officials of the Indirect Taxation Authority will conduct detailed checks of buses and passenger motor vehicles entering the customs territory of BiH.

Thus, at the Gradiška Border Crossing, during intensified checks of passenger traffic, customs officials have already discovered and seized a larger quantity of undeclared goods. Through a detailed inspection of a bus traveling on the Dortmund-Neum route, they found and temporarily seized the mobile phone “XIAOMI 13 T Pro 512 GB”, the monitor “MSI optiks G24DGP”, the television “FIRE 40”HD Smart, 36 pairs of shoes (various brands and sizes), women's handbags (various brands), sunglasses, and similar items.

The estimated value of the seized goods is 7,500 BAM.

Furthermore, a detailed inspection of another bus revealed 14 undeclared cylinders for trucks, valued at approximately 3,000.00 BAM.

Continuing their activities to detect undeclared goods, customs officials at the Gradiška border crossing inspected a passenger vehicle and discovered a larger quantity of perfumes. The perfumes were in various packaging, totaling 97 pieces, as well as 147 tester pieces. Additionally, during the inspection of a bus, undeclared goods were found and temporarily seized, consisting of brake system parts for a “TOYOTA” motor vehicle.

- We remind all citizens that when entering the customs territory of BiH, they can bring items in their personal luggage valued up to 600 BAM without paying import duties. Anything exceeding the aforementioned value must be declared to the customs service for import clearance - states the announcement from the Indirect Taxation Authority.

Detailed checks of passengers in buses and passenger motor vehicles will continue until the end of 2023.
