Water to flow through pipes in Nahorevo by the end of 2015 after 10 years of waiting

Residents of Nahorevo, Nahorevska brda, Selja, Poljina and other surrounding areas could, after a decade of agony, finally get water in their homes by the end of 2015, writes the BH News Agency Patria.

The Government of Sarajevo Canton today, based on the initiative of the Municipal Council Centar, adopted the Decision on declaring public interest for the section of water supply project documentation for these villages and hamlets.

- This is now a continuation of activities on the implementation of the water supply project for the citizens of the aforementioned villages and hamlets, for whom water is urgently needed. With the decision of the KS Government, the last administrative obstacle has been removed, so now the municipalities of Stari Grad and Centar can proceed with the urgent resolution of property-legal relations on the land through which the water supply will pass - explains Nedžad Ajnadžić, president of the Municipal Council Centar.

So far, in the process of resolving the water supply problem for the mentioned areas, the City Administration of Sarajevo has issued urban planning consent, after which the municipal councils of Centar and Stari Grad gave their opinion that the construction of the water supply is justified. The Legal Affairs Office of the Municipality Centar then requested the Government of Sarajevo Canton to adopt a decision determining the public interest for the construction of this water supply, in accordance with the Law on Expropriation.

Otherwise, for almost a decade, residents of this area have been supplied with water from cisterns.
