Underground garage near the Emergency Center to be completed by November 15

SARAJevo, (Patria) - Construction works on the underground garage near the Sarajevo Emergency Center are underway and will be completed by November 15 as planned.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister of Canton Sarajevo Mario Nenadić, Minister of Transport Adi Kalem, Mayor of Novo Sarajevo Municipality Nedžad Koldžo, and Director of the Roads Directorate Selmir Kovač visited the construction site.

“This is a joint project of the KS Government and the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo, with a value of around six million KM, of which 4.3 million was allocated by the Canton as an investor, and the Municipality provided the land worth one and a half million KM,” stated Prime Minister Nenadić.

According to him, the parking capacity will increase from the current 40 spaces to 165, and its total area is about five thousand square meters.

“This will solve a long-standing problem for the local population and businesses operating near this parking lot,” the Prime Minister said.

He emphasized that this is just one of the projects that the Canton is implementing together with the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo, and ten more projects have been initiated at the initiative of Prime Minister Nenadić.

As announced by the Prime Minister, construction of a replacement building for residents of a building that must be demolished will begin very soon, as it is located on the route of the Southern Longitudinal, which is also one of the capital joint projects. A building permit will be issued in fifteen days, then property-legal relations will be resolved, and construction will begin by the start of next year.

All necessary administrative and other procedures related to the start of construction of the first section of the First Transversal have been completed, and an agreement for the continuation of works on the Ninth Transversal, worth 4.9 million KM, was recently signed.

“Through synergy, a very significant job has been done in a short time,” emphasized Prime Minister Nenadić.

After four years of working to resolve all the issues that, as Mayor Koldžo stated, usually accompany all major projects, the citizens of Novo Sarajevo Municipality will finally get a parking lot in the central part of this municipality.

“For us, this is a very important project that we are implementing in a ‘public-public’ partnership, because we want to help the local population of this municipality. Together with the Ministry of Transport, we plan to agree on a management structure, and we will propose that through a management share in the operational structure, which the Municipality will manage, we ensure that local residents can rent parking spaces under more favorable long-term conditions,” announced Mayor Koldžo.

The project is being implemented with the company Unigradnja.
