Dizdar for NAP on Čović as honorary citizen of Stolac: Shameless glorification of a personality cult

Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the Croatian people Dragan Čović will be declared an honorary citizen of Stolac. This decision was made at a regular session of the Stolac Municipal Council. The news was confirmed for the portal Bljesak.info from the Stolac Municipal Council.

As one of the reasons for this decision, the Council cited „the exceptional support of Dragan Čović for the financial sustainability of the city on the Bregava in the past years“.

Čović became an honorary citizen of Stolac with nine votes from the HDZ, while seven councilors from the HDZ 1990 and the Initiative for Stolac were against.

Member of the Main Board of the SDP BiH who lives in Stolac, Nerin Dizdar, said that today's move by the HDZ BiH in Stolac only confirmed “that the HDZ is the most radical neo-communist party in the country, which shamelessly glorifies a personality cult“, and, Dizdar added, „in a municipality where the HDZ has ensured that even Mehmedalija Mak Dizdar does not have a street, but Dragan Čović, who does not even respect the decisions of the Constitutional Court, has an award“.

- This is about creating history according to the wishes of the HDZ BiH, it is about political revisionism that is unacceptable – Dizdar said for the Patria agency.

- For the HDZ, Stolac exists only up to the part where the power of the HDZ extends, while everything beyond that does not exist, or even worse, everything outside of that the HDZ considers a threat, including Croats who are not with the HDZ – Dizdar said.
