Divković: Half of Our Party should be fired, they talked a lot about what needs to be done, but did nothing!

(Patria) - If there were serious and responsible politicians in Our Party, I fear that half of the party should be fired or they should resign themselves. What is the result of this party? Nothing, there is no serious result of this party", assessed the president of the BH Journalists association, Marko Divković, in an interview for N1.

An internal memo from Our Party to certain media outlets with instructions on how they should report on the arrest and detention of cantonal minister Bojan Bošnjak over the weekend was also responded to by the BH Journalists association. Did it surprise you given that it comes from a party that calls itself liberal?

"All our parties call themselves liberal and democratic, they want to present themselves that way to the public and as pushing our society forward. But reality is harsher. Interference in the work of the media is in itself impermissible, incomprehensible, and unacceptable. I advise the initiators and authors of that instruction to attend a serious course in the subjects of democracy and media freedom. The attempt to lecture journalists and newsrooms speaks to the unseriousness and confusion of the people running this country and the Federation," Divković replied.

NS President Edin Forto added that he is ready to bear political responsibility. What does that mean from the perspective of domestic politicians who do not know the term – resignation?

"If we were to look at the principles of responsibility among our public figures, we could say it is a non-existent category. An example from Tuzla, I have been reporting for decades on how dire the situation is at the Kreka Mine. The situation there has not improved in 20 years. Eight general directors have changed, but debts and neglected production remain. In recent years, I have seen that the condition at our two largest open-pit mines is dire. It is incomprehensible what the foundations of the Federation's energy sector have been reduced to. So, responsibility for poor work does not exist, because the party brought them in," said Divković.

Instead of being dissatisfied with media reporting on a minister in custody, should NS leaders reconsider how satisfied citizens are with their performance in government?

"
I come back to the same question – if there were serious and responsible politicians there, I fear that half of the party should be fired or they should resign themselves. What is the result of this party? Our Party has been in power at certain levels for a long time, they are still talking about what they will do. It is your job to say what you have done, not what you will do. They have done nothing, there is no serious result of this party," Divković stated.
