NDI Director: Our research is not designed for public release!

Public opinion research by NDI - National Democratic Institute is only an internal tool used to inform NDI partners and improve program activities, and is not designed for public release, stated Nenad Simović, NDI Director, for the BH News Agency Patria (NAP).

He issued the statement for the public, as stated, on the occasion of a series of information published during August in the daily newspaper “Oslobođenje” and subsequently reported by various media outlets, concerning alleged research results and comments on that research, mentioning the National Democratic Institute.

- The National Democratic Institute (NDI or the Institute) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization based in the USA, which has been supporting political reforms in Bosnia and Herzegovina at the local and central levels since 1997. NDI has established partnerships with the most important political parties in BiH, and its main focus is on the policy development process. NDI relies on public opinion research in providing technical assistance to political parties - states Simović.

As part of NDI's regular activities to strengthen the capacities of political parties and civil society organizations, NDI typically engages experts in the field of policy development and public opinion research to design and organize public opinion research series in order to determine citizens' attitudes and opinions regarding living conditions in BiH.

- In this regard, public opinion research by NDI is only an internal tool used to inform NDI partners and improve program activities, and is not designed for public release. The research results are not intended for public release, commercial use, nor are they intended to be distributed by unauthorized third parties - he stated.

NDI does not support or is responsible for any form of interpretation of the research by third parties, as such interpretations may, whether intentionally or otherwise, contain misinformation that may distort the actual content of the research results.
