ICITAP Director in BiH Charles W. Bennett visited today (January 15, 2016) the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) and met with SIPA Director Perica Stanić. The meeting was also attended by ICITAP advisor for SIPA Robert Mulligan, reports the Patria news agency.
Since this is the first visit of the ICITAP Director to SIPA since Perica Stanić was appointed director, discussions were held on SIPA's work priorities and future plans, as well as cooperation with ICITAP.
The SIPA Director stated that he is aware that ICITAP has been significant support to SIPA over the past years, especially in strengthening its material-technical and human resources capacities, which, among other things, enabled SIPA investigators to undergo best world practices and training and specialize in various fields. All this contributed to the overall strengthening of SIPA's capacities and its effective fight against the most complex forms of crime.
The meeting also discussed further strengthening of SIPA's capacities, as well as current security challenges. In this context, the needs for certain specialized trainings intended for SIPA investigators were discussed, with the aim of further improving the quality of their work.
Bennett said that ICITAP is at SIPA's disposal for any form of assistance and support, in order to most effectively counter all security challenges of today. He congratulated the SIPA Director on his appointment and wished him success in his future work.
The SIPA Director thanked ICITAP and the U.S. Government for their contribution to SIPA's development and expressed confidence that the successful cooperation will continue.
