Economic Planning Directorate: Number of pensioners in BiH grows faster than the number of employed

The average number of pensioners in BiH in the first half of 2016 was 652.7 thousand, which is 2.6 percent more compared to the same period in 2015. This is the data published by the Economic Planning Directorate (EPD) of BiH, writes Patria.

Although the number of pensioners increased in both entities, a faster growth rate was recorded in the FBiH. The Directorate states that the ratio of pensioners to employed persons paying contributions for PIO is still unfavorable because the growth rate of the number of pensioners was higher compared to the increase in the number of employed.

In the FBiH, the average pension increased by 0.2 percent and amounted to 371 KM, while in the RS it amounted to 342 KM and is 0.2 percent lower. The lowest pensions in BiH remained unchanged, according to the Directorate, reports Patria.
