Diplomatic Winter Bazaar Again This Year at KSC Skenderija

On Saturday, December 3rd, from 11 AM to 4 PM, the Diplomatic Winter Bazaar will be held for the third time at KSC Skenderija in Sarajevo.

The Diplomatic Winter Bazaar, the largest humanitarian event of the year, is organized by members of the diplomatic community operating in Sarajevo, with the participation of the local business community, to enable citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina to taste food from around the world and buy unusual gifts and items in one place.

- This is also a great opportunity for people from all cultures to come together and jointly help children with special needs, as well as children in need - Sandra Horowitz, a member of the organizing committee of the Diplomatic Winter Bazaar Sarajevo, told us.

This year, the bazaar is preparing numerous activities for children of all ages. In an even larger children's pavilion, children can meet Santa Claus and enjoy various activities, such as: face painting, henna painting, playing on a bouncy castle, learning to play musical instruments... Older children will have fun exploring interactive LEGO games at the virtual entertainment stand, and there are also shops with unique clothing and gifts.

Adults will enjoy a taste experience from around the world, and will also have the opportunity to buy tickets for an instant raffle (at a price of 3 BAM), which brings valuable prizes in the form of vacations, gift vouchers for restaurants and spa centers, entertainment, and many other activities.

Visitors will have the chance to participate in an auction, which will start on the main stage at 1:00 PM, with valuable and interesting items on offer, such as: jerseys of famous world footballers, helicopter rides, airline tickets, paintings, and furniture by renowned artists.

- Most importantly, every mark visitors spend at the bazaar will go to humanitarian organizations that support children in Bosnia and Herzegovina - says Caroline Ferguson, a member of the bazaar's organizing committee.

The funds from this year's bazaar support four humanitarian organizations focused on children in need throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- All four organizations are very important and make a big difference in the lives of these children - says Mariette Kraak, a member of the organizing committee of the Diplomatic Winter Bazaar Sarajevo.

This year, the bazaar supports the following organizations: the Christine Witcutt Day Care Center for Children with Special Needs Sarajevo, Down Sy i Mi from Banja Luka, which supports children with Down syndrome and their families, the Franciscan International Student Center, BIH, which provides scholarships and accommodation for students from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Family Strengthening Project, which, in cooperation with SOS Children's Villages International, improves the living conditions of at-risk families in Srebrenica and surrounding rural areas.

Nearly 40 embassies and international organizations are participating in the organization of this year's Diplomatic Winter Bazaar, and visitors will certainly be able to find something interesting at the stands of around 60 exhibitors.

Visitors were able to buy tickets for the bazaar on Monday, in front of the BBI Center, from the spouses of ambassadors in Bosnia and Herzegovina: Caroline Ferguson, wife of H.E. the British Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mariette Kraak, wife of H.E. the Dutch Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Sandra Horowitz, wife of the Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Sarajevo, as well as from other members of the diplomatic community in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The second ticket sales period is December 3rd, the day of the Bazaar, starting at 10 AM, on the Skenderija plateau.

Tickets for the bazaar cost 5 BAM. Entry for children under 10 is free!
