NS diplomatic offensive continues: Arnaut and Kojović meet with French ambassador

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Predrag Kojović, head of the Caucus of Deputies in the BiH Parliament, and Damir Arnaut, deputy of Our Party and member of the Interdepartmental Working Group in the Parliament, met today with the French ambassador to BiH, H.E. Christine Toudic.

Special emphasis was placed on the necessity of maintaining a stable environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including the continued presence of international security forces, which represent a guarantee of security in our country and the region.

"In Our Party, we see the long-term solution to the causes of the current crisis, which repeats year after year, in the constitutional changes we have submitted to the parliamentary procedure. That is one president elected from the Parliament with a ceremonial role. His powers are transferred to the Council of Ministers. The second crucial change is the transfer of all protection mechanisms from the House of Peoples to the House of Representatives, modeled on cantonal assemblies. And the third is the equalization of Others with constituent peoples through their political participation at all levels and all positions of power," said Arnaut.

Before the visit to the Embassy of the Republic of France, representatives of Our Party met with the ambassadors of the USA, Great Britain, Japan, Italy, the European Union, the OSCE, Russia, Turkey, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany, and will continue their visits this and next week. From the negotiations with the ambassadors so far, Arnaut highlights:

"Most of the ambassadors we visited consider our proposals for constitutional changes progressive and actually a solution to the problem. We also received positive information regarding the views of the Venice Commission experts, as well as discussions on this proposal at the meeting of the Peace Implementation Council. What we are doing now is the largest diplomatic offensive undertaken by a single party. In the absence of institutional responses to the crisis, primarily I mean state institutions such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and BiH embassies around the world, it is our duty as a political organization to do everything, including on the international level, to ensure security for our citizens. In addition to visits to embassies, our party has made a few more diplomatic breakthroughs when it comes to lobbying for BiH. I am thinking primarily of independent lobbying towards European parliamentarians who are members of the ALDE party, and a joint appearance, also towards the European Parliament, with the SDP."

The delegation of Our Party announces a visit to the Embassy of Slovenia tomorrow and the Embassy of Sweden the day after tomorrow.
