DF: Schedule an emergency session of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, restore dignity to veterans

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Democratic Front supports all three justified demands of demobilized veterans, who today, after eight months of waiting for the current authorities to seriously listen to them and resolve these demands, had to resort to an unpopular but only possible way to be taken seriously - take to the streets of cities and block traffic.

While acknowledging all the problems of citizens caused by these blockades, we must understand the point of humiliation to which these demobilized veterans have been driven - that they remain on the streets even on the coldest night of this winter, when temperatures as low as -20 degrees are expected.

We remind that our representatives in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina had already requested several months ago that these demands be placed on the agenda of this House, but that this did not meet with understanding from the current authorities, regardless of the fact that for months all employees in the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina pass by the Camp of Heroes every morning on their way to their warm offices.

The capital of this country looked like Absurdistan again today: At one end of the city, the "doors of Europe were opened" to us again (when we will enter - no one knows), so this day was declared "historic", applause, kisses... and at another part, thousands of veterans demanding only what is rightfully theirs and what should be theirs according to all those "European rules". In the third part of the city, thousands of people were without water again today...

Demobilized veterans and their tragic fate are a true picture of this country and the treatment of the people who defended and saved it. We demand that, as a first step, their demands be urgently placed on the agenda of an emergency session of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that these people be restored both their dignity and trust in state institutions - announced the Democratic Front.
