DF: Glorification of genocide by the RS authorities proves that thuggery must be opposed

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Democratic Front condemns the shameful activity of the RS authorities, which is carried out with the aim of glorifying genocide through the form of the so-called International Scientific Conference.

"Ignoring the facts established on the basis of the verdicts of the United Nations court and using conspiracy theories that border on common sense, the authorities of the Republika Srpska are institutionally attempting to establish the policy of committing the crime of genocide as a public or social good of that entity. The policy of the RS authorities is entirely in line with the policy of the convicted genocidaire Radovan Karadžić," the DF stated.

This policy, they add, completely disregards all international, democratic and civilizational standards, while simultaneously promoting its own standards which, in their opinion, the world should accept.

"The crimes committed by the para-state institutions of the RS were, for them, prevention and something that was necessary in the genocidal process of creating the RS. So today, the RS authorities are acting preventively. Instead of finding the strength to
point out to the citizens of that entity the shameful character of Karadžić's policy after the final verdict against him, the RS authorities seek to ridicule the UN court's verdicts, guided by the logic that the whole world has conspired against Serbs. They should explain to the citizens of that entity that it is only in circumstances where Karadžić is a Serbian hero that it is truly possible for the whole world to be against Serbs," the statement reads.

They add that "while the RS authorities, contrary to all the rules established by Dayton, are arming the police force that was convicted of genocide, while forming reserve units of those police forces, and while simultaneously with these processes the non-Serb population is being harassed, using Nazi methods, the international community and its representatives in BiH are either expressing insubstantial concern or are simply silent."

"For all these reasons, we in the DF believe that it has become incoherent to appeal to the international community, because the policy that nurtures the legacy of genocide in BiH cares nothing for the stance of that same international community in BiH, whose very existence is highly questionable. Threats and glorification of genocide must not and cannot be ignored. Therefore, we call on all pro-Bosnian forces to gather in order to find an institutional response to the policy of thuggery and preparations for new violence, so that it can be prevented, because history teaches us that the world will not defend us from those who, contrary to civilization, know only the law of force," the statement said.
