DF: Judge Vukoja proved why we opposed his appointment, new appointments aim to strengthen HDZ's influence

(Patria) - The information that Constitutional Court of BiH judges Marin Vukoja and Valerija Galić voted
against the decision to declare the RS Government unconstitutional is another indicator of the ruling coalition's catastrophic decision to appoint a person close to HDZ and professionally incompetent to the Constitutional Court of BiH.

The Democratic Front has continuously pointed out through the FBiH Parliament the harm of such a move by the ruling coalition, in terms of succumbing to HDZ's demands, and the consequences are now clearly visible.

"To make matters worse, the ruling coalition and HDZ are continuing in the same vein, and are now planning to elect one more judge to the Constitutional Court of BiH as a package deal. The intention of the ruling regime is for the ruling coalition to appoint its favorite to replace Mirsad Ćeman, who is retiring, and on the other hand, after Marin Vukoja, to elect another HDZ favorite to the Constitutional Court of BiH to replace Valerija Galić, who is retiring, thereby making HDZ's influence decisive.

Although judges in the Constitutional Court of BiH are not elected on an ethnic basis, but from two entities on a civic basis, with ethnic affiliation not being strictly defined, the representatives of the ruling coalition have led this process towards an ethnic one, which will have far-reaching consequences for the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

All attempts at destabilization, attempts at further ethnic divisions, as well as attempts to destroy
the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, will be facilitated by shifting the political system of BiH and the balance of power within the institutions of BiH in favor of the ethnic and to the detriment of the civic and the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We call on citizens and the professional public, especially lawyers, to oppose the legal collapse of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina being carried out by the regime of the ruling coalition, HDZ, and SNSD", the Democratic Front's reaction states.
