DF pushes through maternity benefits in TK, initiative for payments of 1,000 KM adopted

At the initiative of the Democratic Front Club in the Assembly of Tuzla Canton, another injustice has been corrected. Mothers from the TK area have been equalized with mothers from Sarajevo Canton. Under the adopted initiative, mothers will receive an amount of one thousand convertible marks over a period of one year after giving birth. The initiative applies to mothers regardless of whether they are employed or not.

 

”On this occasion, I wish to express satisfaction with the unanimously adopted initiative that I proposed on behalf of the DF Club, by which Tuzla Canton equalizes the amount of compensation for mothers after childbirth with mothers from Sarajevo Canton. With this initiative, our mothers will receive an amount of one thousand convertible marks (1,000 KM) over a period of one year (12 months) after giving birth. The initiative also applies to mothers regardless of whether they are employed or not. Mothers are not and will not be worth less than mothers from Sarajevo or any other canton or area of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Government of TK should, as instructed, urgently adopt a Decision in accordance with the adopted initiative of the Democratic Front Club in the TK Assembly next week,” stated the President of the DF Deputies Club in the TK Assembly, Mahir Mešalić.
