(Patria) - Messages of support for Ratko Mladić and Novak Đukić are unacceptable from citizens of BiH anywhere, and especially in Tuzla, the City Board of DF Tuzla announced today.
"We most strongly condemn the act of desecration of the 'Kapija' Memorial Center, which occurred two days after the 29th anniversary of the suffering of Tuzla's youth.
Headlines like 'Tuzla resident arrested for glorifying war criminals' are not and will not be something that multi-ethnic Tuzla should face. Tuzla defeated fascism long ago and there is no place for it here.
We demand the harshest sanctions from the judicial institutions for the perpetrator of this shameful act. At the same time, we commend the swift reaction of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor's Office of TK.
We assure the families of the killed and wounded citizens of Tuzla at Kapija that we will do everything to ensure that something like this never happens again in our city.
The perpetrator of this terrible act has simultaneously put all our fellow citizens of Serbian nationality in an unenviable position, to whom we have always made it clear, both during and after the war, that they are our friends, neighbors, and above all, Tuzla residents. And so it will remain!
Ratko Mladić and Novak Đukić are war criminals; no vandalistic fascist act can change that fact," the statement from the City Board of DF Tuzla added.
