DF strongly condemns the sexist behavior of Prime Minister of TK Bego Gutić

Democratic Front strongly condemns the behavior of the Prime Minister of Tuzla Canton, Bego Gutić, who during yesterday's session of the Assembly of this canton insulted DF representative Lejla Didik Sarajlić, reports the Patria News Agency.

Namely, Lejla Didik Sarajlić, as a responsible representative in the Assembly of this canton, once again put on the agenda of the session an Initiative she launched for the second time towards the Ministry of Finance of TK and the Department for Financial and Accounting Affairs of the TK Service. The initiative relates to the execution of the audit of the income of representatives in the Assembly of TK delegated to the House of Peoples of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH, in the name of permanent monthly monetary income (allowance).

Prime Minister Gutić obviously did not like this, because he addressed her afterwards with inappropriate vocabulary. During his sexist outburst, he insulted her primarily as a woman, but also as a citizen of a civilized society.

We believe that this, nor any other type of discrimination, has a place in the democratic society we are fighting for, and therefore we want to inform the public about it. This type of outburst must be immediately sanctioned, as we advocate for gender equality, as well as the equality of women in political life.

We demand that Prime Minister Gutić publicly apologize to our representative and his colleague in the Assembly of TK, Lejla Didik Sarajlić, and until then, representatives of the Democratic Front will not attend sessions where the rights of all representatives are not equal.

Also, if such and similar outbursts by Prime Minister Gutić continue, representative Lejla Didik Sarajlić is prepared to take legal measures to exercise her rights before the judicial authorities.
