DF and SDA Agree on Coalition at State Level, Signature "on Paper" to Follow

The meeting between representatives of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) and the Democratic Front of Željko Komšić (DF), which began around 11 a.m. at the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, has concluded. Addressing journalists after the meeting were Bakir Izetbegović, deputy president of the SDA, and Željko Komšić, leader of the DF, reports the reporter of the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Izetbegović stated that during the meeting they focused on the possibilities of these two parties forming a coalition at the state level.

- We have agreed, although we have not yet signed any document, on the further mode of action, so that changes in this country can be felt more strongly. The priority in solving problems at the state level will be resolving the issue of the coordination mechanism, registering prospective military property, and amending the VAT law. The Democratic Front has done a good project, and the SDA supports it almost entirely. We have almost identical views. We have support for what the SDA has given as its principles, and it can be said that the DF and SDA view priorities almost identically - said Izetbegović.

Željko Komšić reiterated his position that in the process of forming the government, he does not want to discuss who will be prime minister or minister, but rather how to make this country better.

- In doing so, I believe that the people in this country must feel these changes. Because we were not elected just to be here, but we were elected to work on prosperity and a better tomorrow for all citizens. We discussed what needs to be done for Bosnia and Herzegovina to make a visible step towards the EU and the segment of changing regulations to facilitate business operations for businesses and entrepreneurs in this country, to give them momentum for employment, investment, and development - said Komšić.

At 5 p.m., the DF and SDA will also hold a meeting with the Alliance for Changes, after which the HDZ BiH will be invited, without which, at this moment, a government in Bosnia and Herzegovina cannot be formed.

Izetbegović said that they are not excluding HDZ BiH and that he hopes Dragan Čović, the leader of HDZ BiH, will not betray the interest of the Croatian people.

- We would not go so far as to disrespect the electoral will of the citizens, and I hope that the vital national interest of Croats will not be a question of the survival of Milorad Dodik - said Izetbegović, commenting on the fact that HDZ BiH and SNSD had previously agreed on cooperation.

- Komšić also holds a similar opinion to Izetbegović, emphasizing that politicians in Bosnia and Herzegovina can look at each other crossly, but that the people have given them the legitimacy to work in their interest.

Regarding the meeting announced for 5 p.m., Izetbegović and Komšić hope it will be successful. Izetbegović said that SNSD is not written off either, at least when it comes to the entity level of government.
