DF and Our Party condemn SDA MP's hate speech against Mario Vukasović

Following the vote at the Sarajevo Canton Assembly session, which did not adopt the proposal to change the name of the "Dobroševići" Primary School to the "Mustafa Busuladžić" Primary School, an attack by Party of Democratic Action MPs on MPs Mario Vukasović and Predrag Kojović followed, reports Patria agency.

- Our Party and the Democratic Front condemn the brutal verbal attack directed against MPs solely based on the views they represent and their names. At the session, Vukasović, before the vote on renaming the school, presented quotes by Mustafa Busuladžić from the World War II period, which indicate his problematic views regarding Jews, Muslims, and women, as arguments against adopting this type of decision, especially considering it concerns a public educational institution. MP Kojović was not even present in the assembly hall at the time and was insulted solely because of his name.

The Sarajevo Canton Assembly session was interrupted after this incident. The Democratic Front and Our Party will not tolerate hate speech by MPs from the Party of Democratic Action, which spreads fear, intolerance, and animosity towards others from the assembly benches, and calls into question freedom of expression and the right to vote.

Our Party and the Democratic Front call for tensions to be calmed and thank colleagues who have condemned this type of outburst in parliamentary bodies.

Amar Dovadžija and Safet Mešanović, both from the SDA parliamentary group, stood out the most in the insults and curses directed at the MPs, writes Patria.
