DF remains against the Excise Law even after meeting with Denis Zvizdić

Today in Sarajevo, at the request of the Chairman of the Council of Ministers, a meeting was held between Denis Zvizdić and the Caucus of the Democratic Front in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.

- First and foremost, we want to state that the talks proceeded in a very open and correct atmosphere and that both sides were aware of the importance of resolving the issue of excise duties for the further development of the road infrastructure network in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Zvizdić, from his position, explained in detail the motive that obliges him and the ruling structure to resolve this issue in a way that has failed several times in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament.

While acknowledging all these reasons and especially appreciating the correct and open approach to this conversation by Mr. Zvizdić, the representatives of the Democratic Front in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH still maintain their previous stance, which means they will not support this Law.

This time we will not repeat all the reasons why we are against it, as they are known, but we will add one more, which is that some parts of BiH are completely bypassed by the planned road network construction, as is the case, for example, with the area of Tuzla Canton.

Of course, we are ready to continue discussions on this topic if we are offered some new elements that would negate our arguments against the currently proposed Excise Law - the DF stated after the meeting with Zvizdić.
