Dević: OHR did not give any interpretation, but quoted the FBiH Constitution

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - SDA MP in the KS Assembly Mahir Dević stated after today's interrupted sessions, which were not attended by MPs from SDA, SBB, DF, and BOSS, who form the new parliamentary majority (18 MPs), that a minority is trying to rule over the majority.

“They are doing all this to prevent Mario Nenadić from becoming Prime Minister. We will not allow that. Imagine a minority negotiating with the Prime Minister; those were their demands yesterday. Yesterday, we had prepared an agreement that they accepted in the morning, but in the afternoon, it was a different story. From the very start, we were faced with an abuse of the Rules of Procedure. We proposed that Danijela Kristić chair the session on January 16, and that was not enough,” said Dević.

He stated that it is an unprecedented case for a minority to rule over a majority.

“Why are you holding the citizens of KS hostage? We cannot agree to such blackmail. If you think that 15 of you can make decisions, then make them. The rotation between Konaković and Kristić was intentionally made. You cannot say that a session attended by 18 MPs did not happen. This is about buying time for the current government every day. We have nothing against them forming a new majority. We will not participate in the work in this manner. We said, return the seal to the secretary, and we will continue working,” said Dević.

He stated that the OHR did not give any interpretation, but sent a letter quoting the FBiH Constitution.

“We demand that the KS Assembly return to legal proceedings. We will schedule a session, and let them not certify that session again. Let them schedule a session with 15 MPs again,” said Dević.

When asked if the decision on temporary financing would be adopted and how, Dević said:

“The citizens of KS should not suffer because of the minority in KS. A Decision on temporary financing will be adopted until January 31, 2020,” claims Dević.
