Ninth Women's Volleyball Tournament 'Ilidža Volleyball Cup 2020'

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The traditional Ninth Women's Volleyball Tournament 'Ilidža Volleyball Cup 2020' was held on September 26, 2020, in the "Sabit Hadžić" hall in Ilidža. This traditional sports event is organized by OK "Igman" in partnership with the Municipality of Ilidža.

This year, the tournament was held without an audience due to the current situation with Covid-19, and four Premier League teams from all over BiH participated: SOK Mostar, UOK Banjaluka Volley, ŽOK Goražde, and ŽOK Igman.

Once again, we witnessed top-level volleyball from the girls competing in BiH's elite competition, and the winner of this year's tournament was UOK Banjaluka Volley, which had an additional advantage over the other participating teams as it included four BiH national team players.

On behalf of the Municipality of Ilidža, trophies were presented to the best teams by Nermin Bašović, and individual awards for the best players of the tournament were presented by the sports director of ŽOK Igman, Admir Smailagić.

"Words of praise regarding the organization and quality of the tournament, as well as the hospitality they received, came to Ilidža from the participating clubs and officials. It can be said that in recent years, it has become prestigious to participate in the 'Ilidža Volleyball Cup', and clubs gladly respond to the organizers' invitation. Next year will be the jubilee 10th IVC tournament, and ŽOK Igman plans to organize the strongest tournament in BiH and the region for that occasion. The management of ŽOK Igman thanks the Municipality of Ilidža for supporting this promising volleyball club in all their activities," said Dino Hadžić from ŽOK "Igman".

Ilidža volleyball players participated in the 'Banja Luka City Trophy' tournament on September 19, where they took second place.
