Tenth day of search for Turkish worker who fell into the Bosna River

(Patria) - After the search for the worker of the Turkish company "Čengiz Insaat" who fell into the swollen Bosna River on November 8th was extended yesterday from Zavidovići towards Maglaj, today it was further extended beyond the reached section in Maglaj towards Doboj.

Fifteen members of the Federal Specialized Units for Water and Underwater Rescue, along with medical and technical support, boats, and necessary equipment, are divided into three teams again today. In accordance with today's operational plan and assigned search zones, some teams will conduct a detailed search of the riverbed and banks of the Bosna River downstream from the accident site to Žepče, while other teams will extend the search towards Doboj.

Divers from the Federal Specialized Unit for Water Rescue (FUCZ) have dived at three locations in the Bosna River in the Begov Han area where a team with a sonar from the Public Security Department of Brčko District identified objects that are suspected to be the body of the second missing worker.

In addition to FUCZ, members of the Mountain Rescue Service Žepče and Srebrenik are also on the ground, today including a search dog, CZ Žepče, PU Žepče, a team from the Public Security Department of Brčko District BiH with a sonar adapted for this type of river, and members of the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority - AFAD from Turkey, who responded to the call from the Turkish company "Čengiz Insaat" and joined the search for the missing Turkish citizen on November 13th. Divers from the Specialized Unit for Water Rescue of the Federal Civil Protection Administration are also on standby, and workers from the company "Čengiz Insaat" have joined the rescuers again today to assist in the search.

The body of one of the workers, a 43-year-old Turkish citizen, was found in the Bosna River by rescuers on November 11th, and the search for the second missing man continues.

The search is being hampered and slowed down by the cold and murky water throughout the entire course, which reduces visibility, as well as large accumulations of debris along the banks and in the riverbed of the Bosna River, which the rescuers are meticulously searching.
