On the occasion of the upcoming great Orthodox holiday of Christmas, the Centar Municipality today hosted a reception for ten Orthodox families whose loved ones, as members of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, lost their lives during the past war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, reports the Patria news agency.
On this occasion, the attending members of veteran families were given a symbolic cash donation and the Centar Municipality calendar for 2016 as a small token of appreciation.
The families of fallen soldiers were hosted by Jasna Beba, secretary of the municipal administration, Slaven Kovačević, deputy chairperson of the Centar Municipal Council, and Đulaga Hamza, assistant to the mayor for veteran affairs.
Among those present at the reception was Nedeljka Kaljanac, who lost her husband Sead during the past war in the ranks of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- I want to thank the Centar Municipality for remembering us in this way. This is a gesture that means a lot to us, it is a nice sign of attention that makes us very happy. We are glad that we are not forgotten, that there is someone who thinks of us, said Nedeljka.
At the proposal of the Association of Families of Martyrs and Fallen Soldiers of the Centar Municipality, symbolic cash amounts were received by: Belma Đozo, Sandra Delalić, Radija Rašević, Brankica Alikadić, Safeta Nikolić, Nura Trifković, Spomenka Vučković, Milijana Šolaja, Nedeljka Kaljanac and Spomenka Pajtak, announced the Centar Municipality.
