Ten new minibuses have started operating on the streets of Sarajevo Canton

(Patria) - Ten new minibuses have been operating on the streets of Sarajevo Canton since 5:15 AM this morning.

“I wish the drivers good luck, the passengers pleasant and safe rides, and I want to thank all citizens. The vehicles were purchased with the money of all of us who live in Sarajevo Canton, an investment was made in higher quality public transport, and without quality public transport, it is clear, there is no quality everyday life,” said the Minister of Transport of Sarajevo Canton, Adnan Šteta, during his morning visit to GRAS and talks with company employees before the new minibuses started operating.

One new minibus has been operating since this morning on the lines Sutjeska - Poljine, Vogošća - Tihovići, from Stup towards Sokolj and Rječica, from Hadžići towards Pazarić, and from Tarčin to Korča, Luke, and Trzanj.

The old town lines Baščaršija - Faletići and Park - Sedrenik - Rogina have been additionally reinforced with two new minibuses each.

“We should not forget that minibus transport was on the verge of being shut down, but we should also not look too far back, because we are witnesses that through work, not talk, great progress can be achieved,” added Minister Šteta.

In addition to these ten, five more new minibuses are arriving in Sarajevo, which will be in operation by the end of the month, thus completing the delivery of all 15. They will also be deployed where the needs are greatest, according to the actual situation on the ground.

“With respect to all countries and times of various donations before us, the citizens of Sarajevo deserve everything new, so, upon completion of the delivery, there will no longer be a single minibus on the streets that does not meet EURO 6 standards. We deserve the best. Let them be a source of pride for us, let us take care of them, and may they serve us long and safely,” concluded Minister Šteta.
