Derviš Hazić Gets a New Home Thanks to Good People

If every successful athlete, businessman, actor or singer in our country decided to help and solve the issue of a roof over the heads of displaced persons, flood victims or social cases, there would be many more smiling faces in our country, reports the Patria news agency.

That happiness was experienced by Derviš Hazić from Kolić near Topčić-Polje, to whom singer Osman Hadžić brought a smile to his face and helped him build a house in the settlement of Donje Klopče near Zenica. Namely, after the major floods in May last year, the Hazić family was left without all their property and hope of ever having a warm family home again.

Nevertheless, the story of Derviš, his wife Selima, son Faris and daughter Lamija has a happy ending, and they should move into their new home by mid-September. Our well-known folk singer Osman Hadžić launched the campaign to help this family in cooperation with brothers Safet, Samir and Sead. Through joint efforts, they secured 20,000 KM in aid, and part of the funds came from the singer's fans.

- The future of my children was uncertain. Without our own roof over our heads, the only solution was some kind of collective accommodation. Thank God who sent us Osman, who showed he is a man with a big heart. When we met through Nihad Fetić Hakala, a gentleman who took my family into his apartment where we still stay, Osman immediately launched the campaign. There is no way we can thank him and repay him for this great gesture - says Derviš.

As he says, Hadžić has now become a member of the Hazić family, he constantly visits them, and will be the first guest in their new home.

- Although we wanted to celebrate Ramadan Bayram in the new house, we did not manage to do so because the work was not finished. Since we cannot afford to hire craftsmen, a large part of the house was built thanks to my colleagues from "Arcelor Mittal", who worked for several days without compensation. Some on masonry, some on electricity, some on plumbing. Thank them all to the skies. Only interior work and room decoration remain. Slowly but surely, with good people and health, everything will be finished. We hope to celebrate Kurban Bayram in the new house, which will make this holiday even more beautiful - says Derviš.
