Denis Zvizdić received 28 votes from MPs to be BiH Council of Ministers Chairman

MPs of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament confirmed the appointment of Denis Zvizdić (SDA) as the Chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers, reports the correspondent of the Patria News Agency.

With 28 votes in favour, 5 against, and 2 abstentions. From the FBiH, 21 were in favour, five against, and two abstained, while from RS, all seven MPs were in favour of Zvizdić's appointment. SNSD delegates did not attend the continuation of the session.

MPs from SBB, as well as Saša Magazinović from SDP, voted against, while Denis Bećirović and Mirsad Mešić from SDP abstained.

This act is a step closer to forming the executive government of BiH and establishing the BiH Council of Ministers. We remind you that negotiations between political entities forming the government in BiH regarding the distribution of ministerial positions have been ongoing for two days.

OPEN DEBATE

After a hundred-minute speech, Denis Zvizdić concluded his exposition, after which the debate at the session of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament was opened, reports the correspondent of the BiH Patria News Agency.

Saša Magazinović, an SDP MP, joked that Aleksandar Vučić should be told that Zvizdić did not break his record for speech length.

- I want to support parts of the speech, especially the one concerning the European Union, and I am glad you mentioned youth, the environment, and the economy. I also wish to support your proposal on establishing new agencies. We are the opposition and will not vote for the Council of Ministers, but some segments of your exposition have my support. There are also parts I would discuss with you, but we do not have enough time. Without entering into a polemic, I will ask you to provide me with your exposition. Our paths cross, and your exposition, along with the rules of procedure, will be my main document, as we will demand the fulfillment of promises - said Magazinović.

Denis Bećirović (SDP) pointed out that Zvizdić's presentation has parts with which he can agree and parts with which he cannot.

- We need strategies, both long-term and short-term. We all need, including the Council of Ministers, more of that reformist approach and more creativity, and fewer party directives. I expect everyone, both the government and the opposition, to contribute and for the state bodies of BiH to become bodies in the true sense of the word. We need more parliamentary democracy. It would be desirable if you had also provided us with your biography. Although we are the opposition, we have the strength to say what we agree with from your exposition. I support your statements that you will not blame those before you and that you will create an economic development plan - said Bećirović.

He added that everyone's goal should be for BiH to move forward.

- Therefore, I will perceive every success, including those achieved by the government, as my own - added Bećirović, telling Zvizdić that he spoke very little in his exposition about BiH's approach to NATO.

Jasmin Emrić (A-SDA) congratulated Zvizdić on his courage, as BiH is in a difficult situation.

- I support changes, as well as reforms and economic development. As a party, we based our program on changes. I support this priority that is emphasized in the exposition. I also support the announcement of BiH turning towards substantive matters, which will enable a more comfortable life for BiH citizens. The exposition is based on strategic commitments and is very systematically done - said Emrić, adding that they lost attention because the exposition was quite extensive.

- I agree that we should have received it earlier so that we could also prepare systematically. I will support this exposition and wish that it fulfills at least a part of what has been said - added Emrić.

Zaim Backović (BPS) said that the exposition is systematic and covers every segment of society regardless of competencies.

- I hope that in previous discussions before accepting the candidacy, you have harmonized your views with those who will form the Council of Ministers of BiH with you. I say this because parts of what you said require complete harmonization of political entities - emphasized Backović.

The discussion on Zvizdić's exposition is still ongoing.

During the discussion, SBB MPs emphasized the point that they had not received the biography of the candidate for the Chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers. Momčilo Novaković (PDP-NDP) reproached his colleagues from SBB for the fact that everyone from that party spoke about the same thing.

- For the sake of correctness towards us, one member of your club could have spoken about it - said Novaković.

Mirsad Đonlagić (SBB) told Novaković that he was not their educator, after which Damir Arnaut (SBB) also spoke, saying that the rules of procedure must be respected and that it is not correct to reply in such a manner.
