Demonstrators dispersed, new protests tomorrow

16:30 After Ismet Bajramović, president of the Union of Independent Trade Unions of BiH, called on workers to disperse, most obeyed, so only 50 workers remain in front of the FBiH Parliament building. The number of police officers securing the House of Peoples session has also decreased.

New protests are scheduled for tomorrow starting at 2 PM.

- All those present in front of this building, colleagues, union members, thank you for coming in front of this building that your hands built, for coming to say "no" to the new labor law that will turn you into slaves. Welcome, united working class, which is stronger than a paper tiger and which is a guarantee for our children and for our future. We will not be afraid. You built this building, and they are using it. We know very well who has embezzled, who is a thief, and who is honest.

Today, the honest working class is the one that is here and the one that was prevented from being here today. But they could not prevent more than 10,000 people from coming. And that is why everyone should show their worth. We are all united here today, and I am leaving this place to inform them that these are not villains or bandits, but the workers of our country who have built and continue to build it.

Today we will see who these two idiots are who will vote for what is called "the prohibition of workers' rights". They are not our government. We will send them a clear message, and that is the law for those who built our country. The law for us, not for them. After all this, the new stance of the Union is "down with the government" that is trying to turn us into slaves. Better a grave than a slave - said Bajramović.

11:19 Safudin Čengić, president of the Employers' Association, told Patria that he hopes that those gathered outside the FBiH Parliament building are unemployed people seeking their rights.

- The problem of BiH is unemployment and a lack of jobs. I hope that the Labor Law will be adopted today, as it could reduce unemployment - says Čengić.

The protests are organized due to the new Labor Law, and according to the reporter of the Patria News Agency, everything is calm in front of the FBiH Parliament building for now. Protective fences have been erected, and a larger number of police and security personnel are noticeable.

The Union states that although the union was ready to discuss the Labor Law and reach a consensus with social partners that would suit everyone, the FBiH Government unilaterally adopted the Draft Labor Law of FBiH without the consent of the Economic and Social Council and sent it into parliamentary procedure, it was announced from the Information Service of SSSBiH.
