Demobilised fighters protest again, agreed text of law must be passed before elections

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Representatives of demobilised fighters have announced mass protests in front of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina today at 12:00.

The fighters demanded that the FBiH Parliament schedule an urgent session of both Houses by September 5 with only one item on the agenda: Harmonisation of amendments to the Law on Demobilised Fighters and Members of Their Families.

Previously, both houses adopted the law, but in different texts.

Demobilised fighters say their problem must be resolved as soon as possible, otherwise they will not allow the elections to be held.

They stressed that they will remain in front of the FBiH Parliament building until their demands are met.

Symbolically at 11:55, on Monday the fighters handed over a petition to the FBiH Minister for Veterans' Affairs Salko Bukvarević for non-recognition of the basic veterans' associations.
