Demir Mahmutčehajić lecturer at conference on genocide in Berlin

BERLIN, (Patria) - A Conference on Genocide in Myanmar was held at the Jewish Museum in Berlin. One of the lecturers was Demir Mahmutčehajić from Stolac.

The conference gathered professors, activists, and politicians to take a clear stance, as well as to agree on recommendations, regarding the genocide currently taking place in Myanmar against the Rohingya.

Organizers invited Demir Mahmutčehajić, recognizing him as a long-time activist, to address the conference and participate in the scientific research work of the conference.

The President of SDP BiH Stolac was also presented in Berlin as a local politician, a social democrat, and a fierce opponent of the Republic of Croatia's interference in the internal affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Mahmutčehajić pointed out at the conference, as well as at scientific panels, everything that happened in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as what is currently happening, warning that the causes of genocide in Bosnia and Herzegovina have not been removed, thus there is a real danger that genocide will be repeated. Demir Mahmutčehajić invited the conference to hold its next session in Sarajevo.

The conference was organized and supported by the Jewish Museum Berlin, Alice Salomon University Berlin, Genocide Watch, the Institute for Comparative Literature and Society Columbia University, Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, the Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights, Concordia University, the University of Essex, and others, and the conference concluded with Professor Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak.
