Delegates of SDA, DF, and SBiH: No discussion on Election Law without prior vote on dismissal of SNSD cadres

(Patria) - Delegates of SDA, DF, and SBiH will not attend the urgent session of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly where HDZ's proposal to amend the Election Law is to be voted on. Opposition delegates demand that the urgent session of the House of Peoples, where a vote on the dismissal of SNSD cadres in the Council of Ministers was to take place, be concluded. The session was interrupted on Wednesday because SNSD delegates broke the quorum, writes Istraga.ba.

HDZ delegate in the House of Peoples of the BiH PS, Marina Pendeš, submitted a Proposal to amend the Election Law of BiH to an urgent procedure on Wednesday, which relates to changing the method of electing members of the BiH Presidency elected from the Federation of BiH and members of the Central Election Commission. The session is scheduled to be held today starting at 11:00 AM.

Delegates of SDA, DF, and SBiH will not attend this session unless the previous session of the House of Peoples of the BiH PS, where one of the agenda items was the Proposal to dismiss SNSD ministers in the Council of Ministers (Srđan Amidžić and Staša Košarac), which was not held due to SNSD delegates breaking the quorum by leaving the session, is continued.

Pendeš's proposal implies that in the election of the Croat member of the Presidency, three out of five cantons (West Herzegovina, Central Bosnia, Herzegovina-Neretva, Posavina, and Canton 10) where Croats are the majority or live in significant numbers, have a decisive role.

To be elected as a Croat member of the BiH Presidency, a candidate would have to win a majority of votes in the FBiH, with the condition of having a majority of votes in three out of five cantons. If no candidate has a majority in three out of five cantons, then the condition would be to have a majority of votes in two cantons, or one out of five cantons if no one meets the condition of two cantons.
