House of Peoples delegates to decide tomorrow on BiH ending up on the blacklist

The session of the House of Peoples of the BiH PA will be held tomorrow, and on the agenda, among other things, are the Bill on Prevention of Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorist Activities, as well as the Bill on Amendments to the Criminal Code of BiH, writes the Patria News Agency.

These laws were adopted by the House of Representatives of the BiH PA, but it is necessary for the delegates of the House of Peoples to adopt them tomorrow as well, so that BiH is not automatically transferred to the "blacklist" of countries when it comes to financial transactions from abroad.

There have been different interpretations of this issue from political parties participating in the government, but most, with the exception of Milorad Dodik, leader of the SNSD, hope that these laws will be adopted.

We remind that the statement of the Committee of Experts of the Council of Europe on the Prevention of Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorist Activities (MONEYVAL) was forwarded to the member states, but the executive secretary of that organization asked his associates to refrain from publishing it until June 7. Samir Omerhodžić, a member of the BiH delegation to Moneyval, also previously told NAP that there are no more delays or new deadlines.

In addition to these laws, delegates will discuss the Bill on Amendments to the Border Control Law. Also, the report of the collegium commission on efforts to reach an agreement on the Request for Consideration of the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Excise Duties in BiH will be presented.
