Delegates of the House of Peoples of the PSBiH today on reports of audit and other institutions

(Patria) - A session of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the 12th in the current mandate, will be held today in Sarajevo.

The proposed agenda includes reports of audit and other institutions, as well as the House’s consent for the ratification of several agreements of Bosnia and Herzegovina with international banks for the realization of various projects related to the construction of road infrastructure in BiH, health and energy projects, as well as for property registration and air quality improvement.

Among the proposed agenda items are the election of three members to the Management Board of the Agency for Development of Higher Education and Quality Assurance, as well as the conclusion on the establishment of a temporary joint commission of both houses of the Parliamentary Assembly for the procedure of appointing a member of the Independent Board for monitoring the conditions of stay and respect for human rights of persons serving prison sentences or other measures imposed by court in criminal proceedings.

It is also proposed to give consent from the House of Peoples for the ratification of the agreement with Serbia and Montenegro on financing activities from the cross-border cooperation program until 2027. These agreements would be ratified by the European Commission on behalf of the European Union and on behalf of BiH by the Directorate for European Integration, and on behalf of the governments of Serbia and Montenegro by the Office and the Ministry of European Integration, respectively.

The GREVIO committee is the submitter of the report for Bosnia and Herzegovina on legislative and other measures for the implementation of the provisions of the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence (Istanbul Convention) and the Recommendations of the Committee of Parties to the Council of Europe's Istanbul Convention of September 21, 2023, so this report is also one of the numerous announced agenda items for today's session of the House of Peoples.
