Delegates today on banning convicts from running in elections

SARAJEVO; (Patria) - Delegates of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina at today's session should consider amendments to the Election Law that would abolish the right for persons convicted of war crimes to be elected in elections.

The initiative to amend this legal solution was submitted by delegate of the Bosniak Club in the House of Peoples Denis Bećirović (Social Democratic Party – SDP), who explained in the proposal for amendments that persons who have served a sentence of the Hague Tribunal or a domestic court for that criminal offense could not be elected.

The agenda of the session also includes urgent consideration of amendments to the Criminal Code of BiH proposed by delegate from the Croat Club Zlatko Miletić (Democratic Front – DF).

Also on the agenda are amendments to the Law on Salaries and Allowances, which would ensure an increase in salaries for soldiers and non-commissioned officers of the Armed Forces of BiH with the lowest coefficient for salary calculation.
