FBiH Government Delegation in the USA: Unambiguous Support for BiH's Sovereignty and Stability

(Patria) - A delegation of the FBiH Government, led by Prime Minister Nermin Nikšić, held a meeting today at the State Department with the Acting Assistant Secretary of State and Director of the Office of European and Eurasian Affairs Louis L. Bono.

The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss many current topics, as well as how the USA, or rather, the new American administration strategically perceives Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The fact that the only USAID project supported by the American administration is the Southern Interconnection project best illustrates this.

During the meeting, unambiguous support for the sovereignty and stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina was expressed as a fundamental commitment of the United States of America, and a common stance was emphasized on the importance of the Southern Interconnection project for improving Bosnian-American relations.

L. Bono also emphasized his personal commitment to Bosnia and Herzegovina, given that he served in Bosnia and Herzegovina as part of the military forces at the beginning of his career.

Otherwise, the delegation of the Government of the Federation of BiH, led by Nikšić, is on an official visit to the United States of America.

They began their visit with today's meeting with the Ambassador of BiH Sven Alkalaj, who informed the delegation about diplomatic activities in Washington, and discussed current political and development issues of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On that occasion, Nikšić emphasized the importance of the Mission of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Washington, given that the United States of America is a strategic friend of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
