Delegation of high-ranking US officials visits DKPT

A delegation of high-ranking officials from the US administration, led by Alina L. Romanowska, Coordinator of US Assistance to Europe and Eurasia, visited the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina today and met with the Director of the Directorate, Mirsad Vilić, the DKPT announced, as reported by the Patria news agency.

Vilić informed the guests about the Directorate's competencies and its role in the security system of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He presented the Directorate's activities and particularly highlighted the significance of the 'Mutual Assistance and Cooperation Agreement (MAA)' of five law enforcement agencies in the Sarajevo Canton territory, which, after signing, greatly contributed to the cooperation, communication, and coordination of the involved agencies.

He especially thanked the ICITAP Program in BiH, led by Director Charles Bennett, for its continuous assistance in training police officers and providing material and technical equipment to the Directorate.

Romanowska presented the mission and scope of work of the Bureau for Europe and Eurasia and emphasized that communication and cooperation with institutions in BiH are of great importance to the US administration.

The meeting participants also discussed the importance of the fight against terrorism and organized crime, as well as the issue of 'foreign fighters', and the activities undertaken in BiH regarding these matters, the DKPT announced.
