Indirect Taxation Authority Delegation Visits Prevent Group

A delegation from the Indirect Taxation Authority, led by Director Miro Džakula, visited Prevent Group in Visoko, one of the largest indirect tax payers in BiH, which employs 5,000 workers, reports the Patria News Agency.

At the Topuzovo polje location in Visoko, the ITA delegation toured the Prevent Leather factory, the most modern tannery in Southeast Europe, and was introduced to the textile production process at Prevent Fabrics.

Following the tour of the production facilities, the delegation from the Indirect Taxation Authority held talks with the management of Prevent Group, led by Almir Jazvin, President of the Management Board of Prevent Group. ITA Director Miro Džakula explained new projects being prepared by the ITA, which will represent a significant step forward in providing services to taxpayers such as Prevent Group, one of the most important exporters from BiH.

This primarily relates to the issuance of digital signatures for all ITA taxpayers and the electronic submission of VAT returns, expected in the first half of 2015. In addition, the management of Prevent Group was informed about the local customs clearance procedure for imports, as well as the status of authorized recipient and authorized sender, which has been implemented, and the ITA has already issued several permits.

This represents a significant simplification of the regular customs procedure, reducing costs for economic entities in BiH and improving cooperation between customs and the economy. The visit to Prevent Group was one in a series of planned visits by the ITA management to the largest taxpayers in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The main goal is to become acquainted with their working methods and to identify opportunities for the ITA to do everything within its jurisdiction to provide higher quality services to compliant taxpayers, thereby facilitating their business operations.
