SDP delegation in Mrkonjić Grad, then in Banja Luka for Statehood Day celebration

Statehood Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina was marked in Mrkonjić Grad. Numerous anti-fascists from BiH, delegations of associations and political parties gathered today at the place where the historic session of ZAVNOBiH was held on 25 November 1943, when the decision was made to restore the statehood of BiH and its borders.

Today, anti-fascists from Sarajevo, Jablanica, Bugojno, Bihać, Tešanj, Travnik came to Mrkonjić Grad.

Among the delegations was the president of the SDP, Nermin Nikšić, who emphasised the importance of marking these historic dates.

"Today marks the most important date in the modern history of BiH. It is very important that we show that we care about that history, about what the people and 247 delegates at the first session of ZAVNOBiH managed to say, that BiH should be neither Serbian nor Croatian nor Muslim, but both Serbian and Croatian and Muslim. It is very important for us that that morale, that enthusiasm and sense of belonging to BiH returns among the citizens. Then we would be better off, if we competed over who is a better neighbour, who is a better friend, worker, entrepreneur, expert, scientist, and not who is a bigger nationalist," said Nikšić.

After Mrkonjić Grad, the SDP delegation headed to Banja Luka, where at 6 PM Statehood Day of BiH will be marked at the Banja Luka Fairgrounds, organised by the Banja Luka Municipal Board of the SDP and the party's vice-president Vojin Mijatović.
