HDZ delegation at Boban's grave "revives" so-called Herceg-Bosna

A delegation of the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina today traditionally marked the 23rd anniversary of the founding of the so-called Croatian Community of Herceg-Bosna by laying flowers at the grave of the "first president" Mate Boban, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

Boban was the founder and supreme commander of the Croatian Defence Council, which on November 9, 1993, destroyed the Old Bridge in Mostar, and one of the presidents of the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Although he was dismissed on November 19, 1993, and withdrew from political functions, on the day of his funeral in 1997 (died July 7), flags were lowered to half-mast in the area from Ravno to Drvar. His death was covered by Croatian Radiotelevision and Radio Television of the Republika Srpska.

We remind you that on November 18, 1991, Herceg-Bosna was proclaimed in Grude, a fundamental community for Croats, and a para-state entity for others.

As stated in the HDZ BiH press release, HZHB is a "political, cultural, economic and territorial organization of the Croatian people in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and was founded by the political leadership of Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina (HDZ BiH), as a response to Serbian aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croats in the country."

The so-called Herceg-Bosna was formally abolished on August 14, 1996, which should mean that it legally still exists, and this is best seen in one part of Herzegovina where flags, company names (EP HZHB) and other symbols of this para-state entity have been erected.

Namely, as announced, HZHB as an association that does not have state-building powers was founded on May 24, 1997, in Neum, but it is increasingly evident that the founders and "successors" are forgetting this, and instead of acting as an "ordinary association of citizens," they often behave like a state.
