City of Sarajevo Delegation at United Nations Headquarters

NEW YORK, (Patria) - A delegation from the City of Sarajevo met at the United Nations Headquarters in New York with high-ranking officials of the organization. A reception for the delegation, led by Mayor Abdulah Skaka and Chairman of the City Council Igor Gavrić, accompanied by Nenad Vuković, was organized on the anniversary of the opening of the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF), which was held on February 10th at the "Asim Ferhatović Hase" stadium in Sarajevo.

In New York, the delegations met, among others, with Adam Dieng, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Special Adviser to the UN Secretary-General. Dieng had previously presented Skaka and Vuković with special recognitions for their contribution to cooperation, peace, and dialogue through the successful organization of the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF), precisely because of the successful organization of EYOF.

During the meeting at the headquarters of the world's largest organization, discussions focused on the positive effects of this sporting event for Bosnia and Herzegovina and the possibilities for our country and city to host even more significant sporting events.
