(Patria) - The European Union Delegation in Bosnia and Herzegovina has commented after the Constitutional Court issued temporary measures suspending the unconstitutional laws passed by the National Assembly of Republika Srpska (NSRS), and which were later signed by the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik.
They stated that "everyone is obliged to respect the decisions of the Constitutional Court, including temporary measures".
- The entity of Republika Srpska is obliged to act in accordance with the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina and domestic regulations, and to respect the competencies and decisions of domestic institutions, including the Constitutional Court, the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council, the Court, the Prosecutor's Office, as well as the State Investigation and Protection Agency.
We call on all public officials to perform their duties in a professional and impartial manner, in accordance with the law. Political pressure on state officials to leave state-level institutions must stop.
Once again, we call on all political actors to engage in dialogue to de-escalate the current situation and to focus efforts on achieving progress for the benefit of citizens, including on the European path - the EU Delegation stated.
