DKPT Delegation at the Interpol General Assembly

From November 2nd to 5th, the 84th Interpol General Assembly is being held in Kigali, Rwanda. Approximately 160 Interpol member countries are attending this year's assembly. Bosnia and Herzegovina is represented at the assembly by a delegation from the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH, led by Deputy Director Milo Jurić, reports the Patria News Agency.  

The assembly discusses the latest security challenges facing the world today, such as terrorism - foreign fighters, migration currently faced by the EU and the Western Balkans, as well as corruption, drug abuse, cybercrime, environmental and wildlife crime, etc., in the context of joint action by Interpol member countries' police forces.

In this context, Interpol has launched a project called INTERPOL 2020: Policing Global Threats in a Dynamic Environment. The project's goal is to prepare Interpol strategically and operationally to counter new security threats and the needs of member countries.

As at previous General Assemblies, reports for the previous period and plans for the future work of working groups established within Interpol will be considered. Interpol's financial report for 2014 will also be reviewed. In addition, new members of the Interpol Executive Committee will be elected at the 84th General Assembly.

The General Assembly will also adopt a number of resolutions and cooperation agreements between Interpol and other international organizations, governmental and non-governmental organizations, public agencies, and states.

The BiH delegation held bilateral meetings with delegations from other countries and candidates for positions in the Interpol Executive Committee, it was announced from the DKPT.
