DF delegation laid wreaths for victims of Grabovica, Crni Vrh and Bradina

A delegation of the Democratic Front, led by the president of the DF Municipal Board of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton Branimir Jukić and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Džubur, laid wreaths at the monuments to war victims in Grabovica, Crni Vrh and Bradina.

- Grabovica (Jablanica municipality) and the crime against members of the Croatian people on 7 and 8 September 1993, Crni Vrh (Prozor municipality) and the crime against members of the Bosniak people on 31 July 1993, Bradina (Konjic municipality) and the crime against members of the Serbian people on 25 May 1992, are among the greatest crimes against our citizens, against our neighbours and innocent people, committed by those who are ours, but only ethnically, not morally and ethically. We do not want and cannot forget what happened, because it is not humane and it is not responsible towards the victims or the future of our children, the Democratic Front believes.

According to Jukić, this is a public gesture that demonstrates the civilisational values for which the Democratic Front advocates.

- All victims are our victims and there is no alibi or ideology that can justify the killing of civilians and unarmed people. Every guilt is individual and there are only individual crimes and criminal policies, not hiding behind collectives.  I think it is basic humanity to express reverence for all victims and condemn the crime, especially if it was committed in the name of a nation to which one oneself belongs - Jukić emphasised.

Professor Ahmed Džubur stressed that civilised people can in no way share common values with criminals.

- Any criminals are not our criminals. They are not, because we do not share common values with them. Belonging to any nation does not define a criminal, but his act defines him as such. Only those who share common values with criminals can perceive some of them as their own. It is precisely at these places that we want to emphasise such an obvious difference between a civilisational and a barbaric approach to man as a human species - Džubur said.

The Democratic Front believes that it is the duty and obligation of all of us who live in Bosnia and Herzegovina today, towards future generations, to first look into our own backyard and point out those who have tarnished the honour of our people.

- Those who do not want to do that should not be forced to do so.  It will never be an expression of their strength but of their weakness, it will never be an expression of their courage but of cowardice. There should be no coercion in paying tribute to the victims. We despise false and polite expressions of condolence that are extorted, and we recognise only sincere wishes that are conditioned by nothing but one's own basic decency. We do not want from this place to call on those who simultaneously glorify criminal projects. We are convinced that such a call is pointless, because we are not the same. We simply do not share the same values, and therefore we do not expect anything from such people. We can only tell them from this place: peace is our weapon!

- We will continue to advocate for the idea of a civic, democratic, multi-ethnic and European Bosnia and Herzegovina because it is about civilisational values. Such values are shared with us by the vast majority of citizens of our country - the DF states.
