BiH Delegation Led by CBBiH Governor Senad Softić at IMF and World Bank Spring Meetings

WASHINGTON, (Patria) - A delegation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, led by the Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBiH) Senad Softić, is attending the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB) in Washington from April 12 to 14, the Central Bank of BiH announced.

During its stay, the delegation held a series of meetings with high-ranking officials of the IMF and the World Bank, among which it is worth highlighting meetings with Tao Zhang, Deputy Managing Director of the IMF, Poul Thomsen, Director of the European Department at the IMF, Cyril Muller, Vice President of the World Bank for Europe and Central Asia, Anthony De Lannoy, Executive Director at the IMF and his deputy Richard
Doornbosch, with Koen Davidse, Executive Director at the WB, and Martin Petri, Head of the IMF Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

With high-ranking IMF officials, discussions included, among other things, cooperation and the Bosnia and Herzegovina program with the IMF, which is currently at a standstill. The IMF expressed readiness to continue negotiations as soon as all necessary conditions are met. 

At the meeting of the Dutch-Belgian constituency, which was attended by the CBBiH Governor, discussions were held on the global economic context, opportunities and policies.

Also, global economic forecasts for 2019 were presented. The Governor also held several bilateral meetings related to cooperation between the CBBiH and the IMF through the technical assistance program.
