
(Patria) - On Wednesday, 13 December 2023, the University of Sarajevo – Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and Security Studies was visited by the Minister of Interior of the Zenica-Doboj Canton Emir Vračo, Police Commissioner of the Police Administration of the MoI ZDK and General Police Inspector Admir Gazić, and the Head of the Police Inspectorate of the MoI ZDK Elvedin Fišek.
On that occasion, a working meeting was held with the Dean of the Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and Security Studies, Prof. Dr. Jasmin Ahić, Vice Dean for Teaching and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Admir Hadžikadunić, and the Head of the Institute for Criminalistics, Criminology and Security Studies "CriminalEast", Prof. Dr. Muamer Kavazović.
The Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Jasmin Ahić, expressed satisfaction with the joint visit of the Minister of the MoI and the Police Commissioner, and presented opportunities for improving inter-institutional cooperation defined by the existing Agreement on Scientific, Educational and Professional Cooperation.
Minister Vračo emphasised the importance and significance of intensive cooperation with the Faculty in the field of education of police officers of the Police Administration of the MoI ZDK, as well as in other areas, and stressed that after assuming the office of minister, he pointed out that among his first official visits would be precisely the visit to the Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and Security Studies.
Professors Hadžikadunić and Kavazović presented the programmes of specialist education that the Faculty implements for police officers as a target group, with special emphasis on the programmes "Crime Scene Processing", "Digital Forensics and Information Security", "Financial Investigations of Corrupt Criminal Offences", "Techniques and Tactics of Interrogating Suspects and Hearing Witnesses", and the new programme of the Faculty in the process of obtaining the necessary approvals, "Criminal Profiling".
Police Commissioner of the Police Administration of the MoI ZDK Admir Gazić expressed satisfaction with the numerous current programmes of education for police officers conducted by the Faculty, and expressed readiness for the mentioned and other specialist educations to be implemented in 2024 for police officers of the Police Administration of the MoI ZDK, and emphasised the necessity of continuous cooperation with the Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and Security Studies, stressing that for quality work of police officers it is necessary to adhere to science and procedures, and to build upon existing experiences, and that every additional specialist education contributes to the quality of police officers' work.
The meeting discussed the need to improve the existing by-law regulations related to police officers in the Police Administration of the MoI ZDK, as well as other segments in which the Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and Security Studies can contribute, with expectations that intensive mutual cooperation in the coming year will yield significant results for both institutions.
