PARADE AND CEREMONIAL ACADEMY IN SARAJEVO ‘Youth on the Path of Life’

(Patria) - The Sarajevo Memorial Center invites you to the Parade ‘Youth on the Path of Life’ and the Ceremonial Academy of this year's event “Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina – Igman 2026 – from Independence Day to Statehood Day”.

The Sarajevo Memorial Center invites media representatives, citizens, youth, families of martyrs and fallen soldiers, war veterans, representatives of institutions and organizations, as well as all friends of Bosnia and Herzegovina to attend the Parade “Youth on the Path of Life” and the Ceremonial Academy within the event “Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina – Igman 2026 – from Independence Day to Statehood Day”, which will be held on June 3, 2026.

The Parade “Youth on the Path of Life” symbolically connects the past, present and future of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Hundreds of students from primary and secondary schools of Sarajevo Canton will march together with war veterans, families of martyrs and fallen soldiers, and citizens of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, sending a strong message that the memory of the defence of the homeland and its heroes remains a permanent obligation of all generations.

The column will stop at places that testify to the suffering, resistance and struggle for the freedom of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where tribute will be paid to those who laid down their lives for the freedom, dignity and future of our homeland.

After the parade, the Ceremonial Academy, the central event of this year's manifestation, will be held in the open amphitheatre of the Sarajevo Memorial Center in Kovači. Through an appropriate artistic and documentary programme, tribute will be paid to the defenders of Bosnia and Herzegovina, recalling the values of courage, unity and freedom that marked the period of the country's defence.

The Ceremonial Academy represents a meeting of generations and an evening of respect, gratitude and pride, during which a clear message will be sent that the truth about the defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the sacrifice of its defenders and the culture of remembrance must remain permanently present in the collective memory of society.
