DEFICIT If there is no agreement on the budget, we will start next year with temporary financing!

(Patria) - The Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH is in the process of preparing the Budget for 2024. On this occasion, the Minister of Finance, Srđan Amidžić, made a statement.

"As I have said before, we have a deficit on the revenue side of 37 million KM, and now with my team, I am calculating and planning how to ensure the smooth functioning of institutions on one hand, and savings and a rational approach on the other hand," stated the Minister of Finance and Treasury of BiH.

At this moment, it is clear to me that no budget user will be completely satisfied with the amount of funds that will be proposed in the Budget, but the fact is that it cannot be otherwise, because the existing framework is quite limited, and the needs of the institutions are not decreasing, but on the contrary, the demands are increasing year by year," said Amidžić.

He added that his plan is for the Council of Ministers to consider the Budget proposal by the end of November, and then it will be clear whether there is a chance for the Budget to be adopted, i.e., whether there is political agreement on it.

"If the budget does not receive support from the Council of Ministers, it is clear that we will start next year with temporary financing," stated Amidžić.
