Grandpa in uniform from Titova Street: Salem Sivac sells instructive stories about Bosnia

Salem Sivac, a 79-year-old pensioner, has been attracting the attention of passers-by in Sarajevo's busiest Titova Street for months.

Dressed in the uniform of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, this unusual man sells a clumsily written but instructive story about the importance of the fighters who gave their lives for the defence of the country during the Serbian aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina, about the importance of their mothers who raised heroes... In the story, he also offers his own strategy on how to save Bosnia and Herzegovina from ruin.

He says it was not his own need, but the trouble of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is in a great economic, political and moral crisis, that brought him to the street. He admits he is not educated, but he is a patriot and believes that his life experience can be useful to at least someone.

So that he would not have to tell everyone individually, he wrote his messages on paper. The story has no price; it costs as much as the buyer can give from the heart. He says that the money is less important than the story finding its way to the reader's heart. He lives in Hotonj and comes to Titova Street after helping his wife with household chores.

- A great injustice is being done to Bosnia and Herzegovina now. However, it will exist until Judgment Day. Dear God protects it. The only important thing is that we be worthy, noble and believe in the one God – says Sivac.

So far, he has not encountered any problems in his mission. People often stop and talk to him. He has even become friends with many passers-by on Titova. He is also interesting to foreigners. They often take photos with him. He says he is not pushy and will only offer the story to those who understand him. He will explain that what he wrote and offers to passers-by was not written from the head but from the heart and soul.

- I would like people to appreciate a little more the blood of the martyrs who gave their lives for our Bosnia and Herzegovina. Those noble fighters are very important to us. We must remember them. They should be an example to us of how to love and protect Bosnia and Herzegovina – says grandpa Sivac, NAP reports.
